What do you mean by "Any good".
It is a way (appears to be the only way) to upgrade packages that have
been installed from ximian.com. You can also use it to install
non-ximian packages such as StarOffice and Opera. Dependancy checking
seems to work in that whatever packages RedCarpet does install on my
computer does work after the installation.
It seems to work as well as SuSE YOU, perhaps even a little better than
YOU. I prefer the layout of RedCarpet, and RedCarpet only shows the new
or updated packages not every package on the FTP as YOU seems to do.
The content of RedCarpet is controlled by ximian and the packages that
you can access by RedCarpet are determined by ximian.
