problem is solved like this:
booted from suse 7.2 disk 1
selected rescue system mode
mounted root partition unter /mnt
# chroot /mnt
and then executed lilo simply as
# lilo
and everything is fine now.
thank you all

hi,
MBR on /dev/hda has been erased and I am trying to get my lilo back.
my / is /dev/hdb3
I booted from suse disk 1 with [rescue] option mounted /dev/hdb3 on /mnt
but simply typing # lilo or # lilo -C /mnt/etc/lilo.conf
didn't solve my problem. what should I do?
thanks, baris
