hi alejandro,

do you have 2 processors installed on this box ??
if not, an smp kernel can cause problems with only one cpu.
i had a similar experience on a dual machine, with only one cpu but
using a smp kernel. the machine crashed/rebooted periodically.
also, check for memory leaks. do you have programs that will be
started periodically ?? maybe these programs dont free all the mem
they used, so the memory can overflow. for example, if you send the
apache server a SIGHUP while some connections are open, some
child processes stay dead in memory. after a week or so the machine
crashes (happened on one of my machines)
