I currently have a Mantel 2.4.10 kernel that I compiled and the NVIDIA 1541
drivers self compiled and installed. The driver loads up fine. When I start
X it gets all the way to picking a 1024*768 mode for my monitor and then it
errors out with a XIO Error 104. Unable to establish communication. My
first thought is AGP driver, however, when I check cat /proc/nv/card0. It
shows AGP Enabled and using the Nvidia provided AGP. When I look in the AGP
section of the NVIDIA install pdf file my SiS5595 chipset is not supported
by NVIDIA's AGP driver. My question is how do I get the kernel AGPGART to
work. I know how to compile it into the kernel. I would like to do a
cloneconfig compile of the kernel as ALSA does not work any longer either.
How do I get this to work now that I have changed my kernel compile
selections? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
