What ? I use kmail with Süse Linux 7.2 (and before this 7.1 and 7.0 - with 
older Süse versions I was only using Netscape Messenger...) and I never had 
any  problem with this list, any other list... I tried kmail with other Linux 
distros and all worked well too... I really do not understand the problem you 
encounter. the kmail configuration is easy, just take the time (5 minutes...) 
to do it...
