Hi,
I've been experiencing numerous crashes since I've upgraded my KDE to 2.2.1, X to 4.10 and the lastest Nvidia drivers. I'm using SuSE Pro 7.2 and I'm running it on an AMD 1.33GB/266FSB/Epox 8K7A+.
This is quite frustrating, before if I had a similiar freeze, I'd just ssh in from another machine and reboot. With this freeze, I'm literally froze out of my machine. It is only a matter of time before I totally toast my filesystem.
I believe that there may have been a previous thread about this issue, I've check the recent archieve and I've not seem anything. Is the issue being looked into? Resolution maybe? Seen this, yes. if U could ssh, I gather your X is frozen, not the whole machine? Then why not use one of the many 'virtual consoles'? with ctrl-alt-f1 thru f8? U get a fresh non-X console, login, kill X, done?
