Are there any applications that can use the front panel buttons of an Epson scanner. I have a 640 that works fine under sane, but it would be nice if the scan button on the scanner could be used instead of clicking in the xsane window. Richard

Firstly the 1250 Scanner is not supported by the Epson backend of Sane, nearly made that mistake myself. Ended up buying a 1650 and all works beautifully.
To get an Epson scanner setup please have a look at http://freecolormanagement.com/sane/ there is a lot of info on that site for setting up a scanner.

I bought this scanner, and now having hard time to istall it under SuSE 7.2
When I install the cable, I get the following in my /var/log/messages:
usbmgr : vendor:0x4b8 product:0x10f usbmgr: class:0xf subclass:0x0 protocol:0xff usbmgr: USB device isn't matched the configuration
I had a look at /etc/usbmgr/usbmgr.conf, and perfection 1200U is
