nobody ever gave me an answer on this one. well apparently in 7.2 yast and yast2 fail to get this right. I had to go handedit /etc/opt/kde2/share/config/kdm/kdmrc and put AllowShutdown=Root mk

I still have this one problem with kdm using kde 2.2.1.
I configure the shutdown permission via rc.config:
# If you want to allow root logins from other machines, set ROOT_LOGIN_REMOTE # system in kdm. Valid values are: "root", "all", "none", "local", "auto" KDM_SHUTDOWN="root"
SuSEconfig ran.
But my KDM screen shows the following:
1. Clicking on Shutdown button 2. Window with menu: "Shutdown" "Reboot (1. Linux, 2. memtest86)" shows up. 3. Box to enter root password is missing. 4. Any user can get to the box and just shut it down, which was not my intent.
Thank you,
mk
