Hello, I don't know but the more refined SuSE gets the more trouble I have setting it up. The last version which actually worked flawlessly for me was 6.2. Oh well. I have trouble to get anything with passwords going right now. Authentication works but setting up any scheme for password updates is difficult. Running SMB, NFS and NIS on same box as master server. No slaves present. I want to be able to change passwords on Win98 box and as well update Unix /etc/passwd and then run a make passwd for NIS. Passwd(SMB, UNIX and NIS) updates on server itself work fine. When done on Win98 it says "can't change password for Microsoft Networking. passwd incorrect." But the password is same as used when logging in. Here is my smb.conf: [global] workgroup = OZLAND server string = Samba %v on %L interfaces = 192.168.1.1/255.255.255.0 encrypt passwords = Yes update encrypted = Yes null passwords = Yes passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u; cd /var/yp; make passwd passwd chat debug = Yes unix password sync = Yes log file = /var/log/samba-log.%m time server = Yes keepalive = 30 logon script = %U.bat domain logons = Yes preferred master = True domain master = True kernel oplocks = No guest account = guest hosts allow = 192.168.1. browseable = No [netlogon] comment = The Domain Logon Service path = /etc/samba/logon guest ok = Yes [share-drive1] comment = Network Drive path = /share-drive1 read only = No create mask = 0644 guest ok = Yes [homes] comment = Home Directory invalid users = guest read only = No veto files = /.*/ _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp
