If you're just a home hobbyist, you probably don't need to be ultra-paranoid about security. However, in a company environment, you need to make sure that a dishonest or disgruntled employee can't gain physical access to the floppy and cdrom drives. Rather than use a standard PC case, your server should be a rack-mounted unit bolted inside a metal cabinet that can be locked with a key or combination lock (or both). It's easy enough to buy these units (I see ads in the computer magazines all the time). - Robert Storey
Other tips to secure your system:
1. Password enable your BIOS. 2. Disable floppy disk seek at boot time. 3. Disable alternate boot devices (CD-ROM, Zip, floppy etc.).
