Hi Folks,
The 'who' command has a tendency not to show who is
logged on in the tty-s.
For instance, just I have "root" logged in on tty1
(the SuSE boot-up screen) and "ted" logged in on tty2.
There are also some log-ins on the pts/-s via X.
The command 'who' does not show either of the log-ins
on tty1 and tty2.
(I'd like to be more specific and detailed about the
behaviour, but it's not consistent: for instance, I
have at times seen that if I log out on tty1 and then
log back in again, that login might then show up ... ).
Anyone else observed this?
If it's a general behaviour, is it a bug?
Or is there a rationale for it?
Comments?
Thanks,
Ted.
