Subject: [SLE] WP Woes again... (libXft)
:\
Message received:
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to get WP8 to work in my SuSE 7.1 installation, and WP8 is
complaining that it can't find libXft.so.1. Any ideas why it would be able to
find libXft.so.1 in my current 7.1 installation, but it could in the previous
one (also 7.1)?
I'd say maybe it had something to do with jumping to XF86 4.1, but I had
that on the old system too. <sigh>
Thanks,
Tim

This is exactly what keeps Linux from the desktop of most computer users, and
to some extent, me. If we want to get a lot of people to use Linux--which I
_do_, so that Linux continues, and I can get out from under Mirosoft's
continuing (successful) attempt to own the whole computer industry, then
this sort of thing has got to be addressed and fixed. I know Corel won't do
it, since they are now in MS's pocket, but other outfits need to see to
it. This includes the distro owners. Am I the only one to see this as
a serious issue?
