When I try to use KPackage it always asks me for the root passwd. When I type it in it then brings up an xterm with a root prompt. Anything I type in this window is echoed 4 four times: ie root: iiiidddd iiiidddd: Command not found. What am I supposed to do with this xterm? Why can't I just go back to the kpackage window and do the install? If I cancel this useless xterm window and go back to kpackage main dialog and re-select it goes through the whole sorry process all over again (another useless xterm). Even if I didn't have the garbage character problem - it seems a bit pointless to have a GUI for something just to throw them back to a command-line prompt. I'd normally use the command line anyway but in this case I clicked on an rpm link in a SuSE advisory and it autoloaded kpackage. _________________________________________________________ Tim Harrell
