If you are using KDE you could also type:
kdesu /sbin/yast2
which will prompt you for the root password.

sux -c /sbin/yast2 will prompt you for the root password.
Also, if you are running KDE2, yast2's modules are available from the Kcontrol center. If you aren't running KDE2, you should still be able to run "kcontrol" and then get to yast2 that way. I always find it easier to run from the command line though.
