I need help badly, I have exhausted all my knowledge and I still have two
major problems. I have installed the latest KDE 2.2 from the SuSE site using
YAST 1. I installed first the base section and then ran SuSEconfig, then
develop, then SuSEconfig, then the applications, I ran SuSEconfig, then
rebooted. I have no startup/shutdown sounds. The cdplayer works nicely. The
other problem is that I can not access any cd's. I get the following error,
Could not mount device. The reported error was: /dev/dvd: input/output error
mount: I could not determine the filesystem type, and none was specified.
This occures in both root and user. Has anyone got any soloutions that might
work, getting desperate. Thanks for any help in advance.

Ralph
