This should be as easy as things get in a linux system. Reinstalling really shouldn't be necessary.

--- I agree, but it did not happen that way yet.
If I cd /data1, ls -la shows nothing. If I cd /data2, ls -la shows nothing.
How do I rid the sys of /data1 and /data2 and reference them as /basement /mirror
Oh, wait, there's something in YAST I used to use for this, let me try that as well.
Should I be worried that I can't access the data on these drives as of yet? That would wreck more than my day.
Thanks!
mkdir /basement mkdir /mirror edit fstab, changing data1 and data2 to the corresponding directory names. then umount /data1 umount /data2 mount /basement mount /mirror If you still get nothing, try checking /var/log/messages and look for any error messages from the time you 'mount'ed regards Anders
