To confirm: Install was completed, mk_initrd, and lilo all ran without a problem. 2.2.19 is installed and appears to be functioning. I can now remove the following: /usr/src/linux-2.2.16/* along with the symbolic link to it in /usr/src? Im may be acting a bit careful, but I've done this before .. unsuccesfully. :( Eric

Im a newbie that knows enough to do damage and is getting good at
reinstalling. ;)
I want to install the 2.2.19 laptop kernel rpm (the full thing -- not just
the image) and then remove the 2.2.16 that came with 7.0. After verifying
the 2.2.19 is working and I have run the "lilo" command, can I remove the
2.2.16 directories without doing major damage? Im am trying to save space
and I need the full kernel so I can compile the new card service and a
wireless network card sources.
You should not need the old sources anymore, if everything is working
correctly.
