Hi, When you reinstall you should use sax2 to load the right driver for your graphics card. It will build a new file in /etc/X11/xf86config. You could print that file out(or put it on a floppy) to see the settings you have. Then you can adjust this file after the sax2 configuration. You also have the option to not reinstall, but rather fix the problem. Regards, Jostein

===== Before re-installing SuSE 7.1 should I keep the file containing my current GUI configuration. I remember the first time I got it to work it was a pain so I dont want to go through the same thing again. Is it possible for me to keep the configuration files so I just replace them after the new installation? will that work? which files are those?
Rik.
