I believe you have to move to kernel 2.4.8 or above to get the new DRM code for the kernel. Or you can download the updated DRM code separately and install that. I have DRI working with 2.4.8 and XFree86 4.1 on my system, however I compiled X myself to get accelerated libGL support. So now I get TuxRacer at 30fps. Too bad you can have Xinerma with DRI or this would be really cool. Maybe someone knows of an RPM for the SuSE upgrade that takes care of the newer DRM requirement in 4.1. Well, after my success with XFree86 4.1 on my thinkpad I got brave enough to put it on my desktop system. It mostly works, but I get the following errors in /var/log/XFree86.0.log:
(EE) MGA(0): [dri] MGADRIScreenInit failed because of a version mismatch. [dri] mga.o kernel module version is 2.0.1 but version 3.0.x is needed. [dri] Disabling DRI. (EE) MGA(0): [drm] failed to remove DRM signal handler
Does anyone have a fix for this?
