When I activated SuSEfirewall the kernel security option in firewall.rc.config was set to yes (it was the default). Since then I have had things like logging of 'martians' and other stuff appear in logs. As I have (unrelated) problems with my cablemodem access at the moment I want to get rid of this stuff before adding it back to a working system. So I have unloaded the firewall rules and de-activated SuSEfirewall. I have run SuSEconfig and rebooted but I find I still get these security options appearing. I'm no longer running any kind of firewall at all so why am I still getting these martian messages? Has it patched the kernel somehow? _________________________________________________________ Tim Harrell
