device /dev/dsp can't be opened (No such device) You get this error because artsd is using /dev/dsp. Going into user account I get this message, Sound Server informational message: Error while initializing the sound sever: device /dev/dsp can't be opened (No such device) The sound server will continue, using null output device
In my xconsole when booting into KDE it shows

It looks like snd-pcm might be the problem, how to fix it I have no clue.
Does sound work, if you do a "killall artsd && artswrapper" ?
