Hi Cliff,
just a suspicion : Check "Scroll Lock" and try pressing "Ctrl q", when YaST hangs. I have seen it in more than one case that this was the cause for an alleged "crash" (i.e. that it was no crash at all).
can you describe what exactly happens ? I have just started YaST2 on the second console, i.e. the one without the fancy graphics in 7.2 (with X running, but it came up in text mode since I've "emptied" the DISPLAY variable). YaST2 comes up with "Quit" hilighted, I press "Tab" and can go to e.g. the Sound entry using the cursor keys. I press "Tab" again in order to get to "Launch module" and press return. The module comes up just fine and recognizes the card. All this is on an IBM Thinkpad A22m . If you perform these actions, what happens ?
