On my freshly setup system with SuSe 7.2 prof. I have a newly bought TV card. I am working still in DOS, no Windows on the system, new to comming from Red Hat (6.2) System Pentium II, 400mHz, 128 M Ram three harddisks (4 meg each) a PCMCIA card reader with its own card, CD rw, soundcard Ensoniq CT 5880 PCI and a Hauppage WinTV (old). Although I have worked since good a year with Linux I feel myself still overwhelmed by enormous information that is given to the user /administrator. I am trying to read my way through man, info and lot of books but in practice I am sitting lost with a lot of info with which I cannot do a thing. Right now I have apart from error messages after shutting down KDE in order to go to text console and the Kmail not letting me email ;-(, I am more bothered with a kernel error which I have. Although the card seems to be recognized by the system I get this message: linux kernel : bttv0: aiee: error loops linux kernel : bttv0: irq:SCERR risc_cont=02478014 linux kernel : bttv0: TV freq out of range No TV reception (which seems to be to expected ;-). I know it is a kernel error but what should I do to cure it. The system is an out of the box install without Gnome but with KDE and Staroffice. Any ready made solutions to above problem? Please in understandable english because I have still no experience with kernel remakes and such ;-), -- Windows IS NOT a virus... viruses do something.
