Hi, Does kde2 need special features enabled in the kernel?
I usually use a stripped down fvwm2 for my X manager, but the new kde2 is looking so good, I've been toying with it.
I installed 7.2 with the 2.4.4-GB kernel and KDE2 runs fine. I compiled a 2.4.6 kernel, and it runs fvwm2 just fine, but hangs on kde-startup at the "setting up" interprocess communication portion. Same X server.
Any clues to this?
I had a similar problem... mv .kde2 old.kde2 restart if that does not do it, go to /tmp and remove mcop and kde directories... Hope it helps, Alvaro Novo SuSE 7.1 Pro -=- Kernel 2.4.2-4GB -=- KDE 2.2-Beta1 12:40pm up 4 days, 58 min, 2 users, load average: 1.06, 1.04, 1.01
