This may help you, as root:
# smbpasswd -a phil
(set your password)
# smbpasswd -U phil
(set the same passwd)
On your windows login, use the password you set in the linux box. I'm
not really sure if this correct, but in my case I have access to the
shares.
My problem is: I've a printer attached to my linux box (using cups), I
made it available as a samba share. On the win98 box, I see the printer,
but when I try to set it up, I get an error message saying it is
offline. However, I've a win98 running under vmware on the linux box,
I've no problem setting the printer in there, it works fine. It seems
problem with the win98 box. Is there a way to troubleshoot this?
