I just did a fresh install of 7.2 last night. Then updated X to 4.1, updated sax2, and loaded the latest nvidia drivers (version 1.0). I configured with sax2 and had no problems whatsoever. I also used "change configuration". However, I have the opposite problem. If I use the "nv" option, it crashes. If I use the "nvidia" option, it works fine. I usually "change configuration", so that I can further tweak it to my satisfaction (or to make sure its using the "nv" option). Might want to try that and see if its any different.
