Hello SuSE users! I'm Installing SuSE 7.1 and I'm having LILO problems, hangs at "LI". I have a Tyan Tiger 2 mb with dual PII processors, an Adaptec 2940 scsi controller, a SIDE ide raid controller, a scsi external Jaz drive (sd0), a scsi external cd-rom drive, an ide smart and friendly CDR, a 9G scsi hd (sd1), an 18G scsi hd (sd2), and three 40G IDE drives striped (hd1e) on the raid controller. I have partition sd1a set to 640MB with windows 98 loaded and running system commander 2000 as my boot loader. I have partition sd1b set to 3GB with SuSE "/" loaded, I have partition sd1c set to 133 MB as linux swap and partition sd1d ~5GB as SuSE "/home" I have partition sd2a (ntfs) set to max size and have win2k installed using the entire drive. I have the striped set hde1 split into several ntfs partitions none bootable. I have installed SuSE with LILO in the boot partition as well as LILO on a floppy and both result with LILO hanging with "LI". System Commander recognizes the linux installation and adds linux to the boot options, it just won't boot. My computer bios boot sequence is set to boot from floppy/cdrom/scsi/search for other boot devices. I installed SuSE linux to the Jaz drive, using entire drive, and it installed and will boot since the MBR was written but I don't want to use LILO as my primary boot loader. Also, I noticed that during installation system checkout my systems hangs for several minutes at 74% except when I have a cartridge in my Jaz drive (when I was installing to the Jaz drive it didn't hang). I'm wondering if the fact that my Jaz drive has a lower scsi id than my hard drives may be causing my problems. I really don't want to start changing scsi id's unless necessary. Any ideas?
