If you perform a default install, inetd is not started, I had the same problem with swat. I think in previous versions the default install enabled inetd. David Bottrill

I just installed 7.2 and Apache is not working.
When I point my browser at http://localhost the browser complains that it can't connect to the server. I can see that Apache is running, but it does not respond to the browser.
I compared httpd.conf to the one I use on 7.0 and the only big differences appeared to be in the fact that include files were used for loading modules instead of putting the configuration directly into http.conf. Anyway, as an experiment, I tried using my old httpd.conf and lo and behold, Apache started working -- at least partially. I couldn't stop and restart the server. " rcapache stop" put up a "failed" message and the next "rcapache start" just hung.
Any ideas?
