Ahhhh, so many Winders users are (reletively) new to the computing
world, They dont knwo that it wasn't so very long ago that installing
anything on windows gave you exactly teh same problems the windows
/Linux migrator mentioned here... Linux is growing quickly, and many
of the problems we all are having , aside from the most basic ones,
result from something miscue-ing during the install .
What I would wish and love to find is a nice compfy mailing list I can
point some real newbies toward ( and probably spend some pretty long
hours on it m'ownself <g>) I'm not nearlly advanced enough to run such
a thing ( mailing list ) w/o more problems than I have time to soldier
thru at the moment. . ADN I really would love to see a place where the
*stupid* questions ( just quoting some of the presumed gods and wizards)
w/o needing to put on asbestos underware adn quite posibley a nice
shiney suit or armour , as well .
Suse , right now is the closest thing to a right out of the box IT
WERKS ( a Eureka moment) disto that I have found ... a lot of stuff gets
solved here , as it should , but the thing that kept me away from Linux
for so long was the rather nasty attitude a lot of posters seemed to
have toward the newest among us . Obviously someone starting out isn't
going to have the experience that the gurus have aquired.. And they may
have actually read the effin' manual , and are convinced whoever wrote
it didn't speak ( fill in your native tounge here )
Sorry for offending the Gods and Gurus , but it is something we must
keep re-iterating , once folks get comfortable doing heaven knows what
to their boxes, they imediatly seem to suffer a complete brain wipe that
erases any non "it's so simple" questions they started out w/ !
This message , of course is NOT aimed at any individual on the list,
it's more in the nature of a general reply to the problem encapsulated
by this post , starting w/ the very first posting by the self named
newbie
