I seem to remember from a previous question that the kde-config file only became a binary with 2.1. in 2.0 it was a text config file in /opt/kde2/share/config. Perhaps this is the problem here. There was a solution, but I forget what it was. Search the mail list archive, it wasn't that long ago.
This is most likely what the problem is/was. I ran into this when I tried to compile KMyMoney2. The easy solution.... upgrade KDE and QT. If you check on the site at http://kmymoney2.sourceforge.net/requirements.html it says that QT must be at least 2.2.4 and KDE must be 2.1. As soon as I upgraded QT and KDE, and did a configure --with-qt-dir=/usr/lib/qt2 everything was happy. On a side note, I found KMyMoney2 a nice package, but I found it too basic to replace Quicken or MSMoney (or whatever Windows package you use). It has the potential to be a good personal finance package... just not quite yet. As an alternative, compare http://moneydance.com/ I have been beating it up for a week or so now and am very impressed with it. Clayton
