I am using the ati drivers. I installed the drivers exactly as stated on
I almost have it working now. I made a mistake when I extracted the binary
drivers. The extractor automatically defaults to root. I just moved the
drivers over to the /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers directory and the
multimedia drivers to the multimedia directory. Now XV is loading fine and
recognizing that I have a ATI All in Wonder Pro card. Now the problem is
when it goes to load the bttv driver it errors out. However, I do not think
this is the problem. My question is will GATOS work with the new drivers?

website to unpack them to /usr and restart X.
Ok, in the device section related to your video card of your
/etc/X11/XF86config what do you use for the option Driver, ati or r128?
Some more questions: What kernel version are you using and what happens when
you
run v4l-conf? That doesn't matter if it complains about beeing unable to
open
/dev/video. I've got the same answer here and I am able to launch XawTV to
watch
TV.
If you still can't run XawTV, may I suggest you that you try to compile
GATOS as I said previously. That will build xatitv wich will normally work
perfectly provided that your card is not equipped with a Rage Theater (IIRC
All-in-Wonder Pro are not).
HTH, regards...
