Nice program to make tape backups & mirroring

Hi !
Does anyone know a good program for making backups in suse 7.1 pro version?.
We have a HP Surestore (blabla)24 (24GB) at work and i'm currently doing the backups with dump.... i tried to make them with amanda but is quite complex...
Another question... is it a way of mirroring 2 IDE disks? (without ide raid)
