Hi Cory, Thanks for the reply I have SuSE 70 - kernel 2.4.2 . I set in YAST - eastern USA - EDT - because in the past I had trouble with the GMT setting (with-suse 6.1). How do you set the system clock to GMT?, by command-line?, or, with YAST ? I tried to do a command I picked up from the list here echo [`date '+%Y-%m-%d %T'` $USER] Clocksync started... >/dev/tty12ntpdate 195.1 30.132.17 195.130.132.18 >>/var/log/clocksync.log hwclock --systohc But after rebooting, I get the same 10 minute time lag. Maybe doing what you suggest will work, just How do I set the system time to GMT before using YAST to set my local time zone.? Thanks for your help John WM On Tue, 29 May 2001, Cory Steers wrote:
