After getting my Suse 7.1 desktop almost the way I want it, I now find the index panel of the Control Center completely blank. I have no clues as to what happened nor how to fix it. Sure would appreciate some help.

What Control Center? GNOME, KDE, or some other?
If GNOME, check the permissions of the files in /opt/gnome/share/control-center. Make sure everyone has read access to them.
Might also check for /opt/gnome/bin/*-capplet. Everyone needs read and execute permissions. Plus /opt/gnome/bin needs to be in your PATH.
I'm just shooting in the dark. But hope it helps.
It's the KDE Control Center. It was working ok. I accessed it from the K menu. But now it comes up with a blank left panel .... the module index panel. Thanks for your reply. I changed the read access for kcontrol to everyone but it still comes up blank. It looks like I have lost a file but I don't know which it is. Jack Reilly
