I had the same problem with printing over Samba under SuSE 7.1. Someone else here on the list solved it for me. The problem is the SuSE 7.1 samba rpms. samba-2.0.7-107.rpm and samba-2.0.8.rpm from the SuSE 7.1 updates directory don't work with printing to a shared windows printer. I have found 2 samba rpms that do work: the samba-2.0.7-72.rpm that comes with SuSE 7.0 or the latest samba-2.0.9.rpm from the SuSE 7.0 updates ftp site - in the n1 directory IIRC.
