DevFS in SuSE 7.1 with 2.4 kernel?

Does SuSE 7.1 use the new DevFS scheme when you install the 2.4 kernel? I see no mention of DevFS in the SuSE manual. The only mention of DevFS on the SuSE website is a description of the devfsd compatibility daemon. I'm thinking about compiling the 2.4 kernel and would rather not deal with DefFS if I have a choice? Do I? Thanks, bw
