Yes, Promise Bios have issues doing HW Raid with any OS accept NT. Andre Hedrick (the main Linux (not just SuSE) IDE guy) that these chipsets are broken in that they are specifically written for M$ products. I don't have much of a suggestion as far as RAID with these cards under Linux..I've only used 3ware cards which work perfectly. You might look for a newer Bios rev. or try to find some tips at Asus's site about using these onboard chipsets with Linux.
