Hello, first off, this is just a hint, don't take it personal: there is a more appropiated list for such an issue (http://www.samba.org/). If you still insist in doing cross-posting, at least include a "[OT]" (Off Topic) or the like in your subjects... Well, as for your problem, there are some places in your smb.conf file you might want to take a look at: local master domain master -- if you already have a PDC in your Windoze domain, it will conflict domain controller preferred master interfaces wins server (if used) wins proxy dns proxy For further info, see 'man smb.conf' :-) HTH, Martin

Here's a problem that may be Windows-related or Samba-related -- I don't know.
I have Samba set up on my Linux machine. One of my Windows machines (a different box, but on the same LAN) usually does not include the Linux machine in Network Neighborhood. However, once in a while the Linux machine does show up in Network Neighborhood. Furthermore, Find Computer on the Windows machine is able to see the Linux machine consistently. The Windows machine seems to be able to see other Windows machines just fine.
This may have something to do with browse masters, but that's a subject I've been able to find hardly any information on.
