I have the same problem with my GF2-MX. It seems the drivers don't release the que and therefore the only way to get back to the shell screen is to A) when the KDM login gui comes up go straight for "reboot to console", or B) reboot. If you find an answer to this please let me know. I suspect it's a function of the kernel/glx drivers from nVidia and either SuSE or nVidia will need to fix this. -----Original Message----- From: markh@compro.net [mailto:markh@compro.net] Sent: Thursday, April 26, 2001 1600 To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: [SLE] Another nvidia ? I'm running 7.1 with a vanilla 2.4.3 kernel and have a nvidia TNT2 chipset. I've been using the x4.0.3 nv driver but now I'v got the latest from the nvidia site. All is installed and working like a champ. Only problem is when I try to shutdown the machine I get a black screen and the machine does not shutdown. I have to hit the reset button. I'm not using a JFS so it's a bit anoying having to go though all the fsck's to get back up. I've read MANY of the nvidia posts and can't find one that matches this problem. Anyone know of this BLACK screen of nvidia while trying to shut down and possibly a fix????
