I have a copy of the whole KDE2/update_for_7.0 tree. I did install all the library and KDE base packages. I used YaST for this. I didn't install any devel package I didn't follow any order though. Following Jonathan's suggestion I re-installed following this order: 1) kdesupport 2) kdelibs 3) kdebase 4)... x) as you like (including the devel packages) I don't know if the isnatllation order or the inclussion of the devel packages did the trick. It's interesting to note that updating to KDE 2 does not add a global path /opt/kde2/bin, so I added it to the global login script /etc/profile (see the same file in SuSE 7.1) Well, after reinstalling, KDE starts. The new problem are the fonts. The menus, control center, and other windows have their fonts garbled. The only one the looks normal is the fixed font. I'll take a look at the machine later. - Rafael
