Autodetection in kernel?

Hello Linux folkz,

Yesterday's night I tried to set up RAID0 on my Linux box (kernel 2.4.3 ext2
and reiserfs).
According to RAID manual in order to recognize RAID devices at boot time I
have to enable autodetection support in kernel.
Is this an additional module I have to download from somewhere or it's already
included with plain 2.4.3 kernel?
I couldn't find this feature in it :( Could somebody please point me where in
the kernel's .config it's located.

Thanks in advance.
Alex
