I had this problem when i forgot to include 'reaiser fs' in the kernel. I
don't believe it's enabled by default and you'll have to enable
'experimental' stuff. (I've forgotten the exact phrase but it's one of the
first compile options via xconfig)
Although i get an error message on shutdown regarding the root partition, i
just ignore it and everything moves along fine. My /boot partition is in
ext2 however.

Is there any reason to belive that SusE's 2.4.2x update rpm does not have
ReiserFS support included? I can't see why it wouldn't...anyone know?
