I don't know if this will help but.... I have a adaptc2940u2w controller on my SuSE box. I was having very slow system response after my upgrade to 7.1 2.4 kernels. My logs were showing scsi timeout issues. I feel there is an error in the aic7xxx modules as shipped. A kernel recompile fixed my issues. Perhaps this might assist your issue. Good luck. Hi ng
I'm wondring wath up with the memory use in 7.1
I'm using the std. kernel 2.4.0-4G KDE 2.0.1 right out of the box, and my system is extremly slow, i found out that all my mem is in use, why is my sys so slow, with 6.4 all was ok and runs fair, but now the start of apps is very slow and my sys hangs from time to time, so i have to wait for a minut before i can go on.
Sys spec. P-III 450 256 MB ram aic7xxx ctrl. tree scsi drive on the 68pins and cdr+cdrom+dvd on the 50pins. asus mob. p2b-ls
form free i get <snip> total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 255120 241384 13736 0 2876 133656 -/+buffers/cache :104852 150268 Swap: 530096 2692 527404 <snip>
Do i have to make a new kernel or is it KDE2 ? the respons time of the sys is driving me insane, almost so mutch that im gonna install 6.4 again. but i like the new futurs in KDE2 :-(
Any adwise ?
