I have a tech question that I hope someone can answer. I need to set up several Unix clients to use and Exchange 2000 server. How is this generally done? Do I have to use Samba or is there a way that Pine or Mutt can download mail from the Exhange server?
If the Exchange server can act as a POP3 or IMAP server, which AFAIK it can, then just set it up as such. Mutt can download mail directly via POP3 or IMAP, but I'm not sure about pine. One of the better solutions if you collect mail from a number of accounts is to use fetechmail, but this isn't necessary in your case, at least with Mutt. If you use Pine and it turns out that it can't download mail directly, then you will need fetchmail to get the mail.
