Thanks for you help, but when i go into yast to change susewm to kde2, there is no kde2 option. I am not sure what is going on. Thanks for all your help, Bob

Bob,
I just went through a similar thing this weekend trying to get KDE 2.1.1 operative.
- Using YaST1, go to System Administration and then Settings of Suse wm and set your default wm to be KDE2. When you do command startx, this will now activate KDE2 instead of KDE. Don't worry, you can always start the old KDE if you need to by using command: startx kde
If you are experiencing X-server errors after you set up the Suse wm under Yast, then you are most likely missing one or more necessary rpm's. I thought I had all the right rpm's, but after a few hints from others on the list I saw that I overlooked a few.
Copy any X-server error messages that you get when you do startx, into your next email if that's the case. Hope this helps. And if it does, will you help me how to upgrade my kernel to 2.4.2? :-)
Regards. Mike michael.flug@snet.net
