Most recently from Slackware, I am unfamiliar with Suse boot sequence. I have placed mysql start/stop script in /etc/init.d and linked it to K14mysql and S20mysql in rc3.d. But it still doesn't start at bootup. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.
Without an actual error message or similar description it will be very hard to help you. But here are some suggestions. Are you sure you are using runlevel 3? Otherwise those 2 links will do nothing. Did you use SuSE's MySQL packages? If you did, you don't have to make your own init scripts or even run mysql_install_db. And best of all: Apache, PHP, and MySQL works together out of the box.
