As I said a few weeks ago, I am looking for a nice replacement for UltraEdit for Windows in Linux.
Any ideas?
nedit. Make sure it's compiled against a real (now free) motif. The lesstif-variety is non-functional. Rumour has it later SuSE-versions (i.e. 7.1) should have it linked with motif. 7.0 did not. You can find this out with ldd and ls, or strings. If you want to compile yourself, the spec file
http://volker.orcon.net.nz/soft/nedit-motif-5.1.1-66.spec
will work, but it's for SuSE 7.0. I believe the rpms are also in the contrib area on ftp.suse.com.
The home page is http://nedit.org/ also. /Dee
