Good encoder is "bladeenc".Get it at http://bladeenc.mp3.no/.
      Hope it answers your qeustions,although there is this to worry about I 
don`t care "
Did you know that mp3 encoding programs are 
illegal in Oz.Just rip it and than encode ,no wonder record companies are 
going spastic over this,Why? because it`s free to anyone to download from the 
Net.EU countries have already banned this software incl Australia
