Hi,

I have managed to get it working temporarily by installing another boot
manager. Have sent the laptop off to have the bios upgraded and have the
keyboard replaced.

I will play with it a bit more when I get it back and see if I can get to the
bottom of this. I have installed Linux & other OS's countless times and have
not run into anything like this.
