Sure the remote .rhosts file is the one which is used to validate your connection. Your local .rhosts is of no importance in your case. -Kastus

I am cofused. It looks like you are logging on to netvru and trying to rsh to netivrp1. You listed the .rhosts file from netvru, is it the same on netivrp1?

What should I be checking to see WHY I'm getting this? Or is it something that I should be looking at the AIX box for a resolution?

Alternatively, does anyone know how I can use ucd-snmp to access mibs in the AIX box? (specifically, I'm trying to check the MIB of the "dtsnmpd" on teh AIX box. The command that I'm using on the AIX box is:

netivrp1:/usr/local/bin>snmpinfo -m dump -v vpackStatus

which feeds back: vpackStatus.1 = 5 vpackStatus.2 = 5 vpackStatus.3 = 5 vpackStatus.4 = 5 vpackStatus.5 = 5 vpackStatus.6 = 5 vpackStatus.7 = 3 vpackStatus.8 = 1

(for example)

Any help/suggestions GREATLY appreciated.
